Rolf Spring

Rolf Spring (born March 19, 1917 ) is a former Swiss rower who won an Olympic silver medal in 1936.

Rolf Spring from the Zurich rowing club was the helmsman in the Swiss rowing team at the 1936 Olympic Games , he steered all three boat classes into the finals. On August 14, 1936, the finals of the rowing decisions at the 1936 Olympic Games were held on the Berlin-Grünau regatta course . At 2.30 p.m. the race started in a four-man with a helmsman ; the German boat won eight seconds ahead of the Swiss boat with Hermann Betschart , Hans Homberger , Alex Homberger , Karl Schmid and Rolf Spring, which in turn won nine seconds ahead of the French had on Bronze Square. At 4 p.m. the finals began in two with the helmsman , Georges Gschwind and Hans Appenzeller rowed with Spring to fifth place.
