Hannes W. Keller

Hannes W. Keller (* 1939 in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss physicist and patron . He is the owner and managing director of Keller AG for pressure measurement technology and the former president of FC Winterthur , which he has given significant financial support.

Life

Hannes W. Keller studied physics at the ETH Zurich . At the Honeywell Research Center in Minneapolis , he developed the integrated silicon measuring cell in the late 1960s. In 1971, Keller brought this technology to Switzerland, where in 1973 the Kistler company brought the first piezoresistive pressure transducer with an isolated measuring cell onto the market. In 1974, Keller founded his own company, Keller AG for pressure measurement technology in Winterthur . Today, with 400 employees, it has an annual turnover of 70 million francs and is the most important manufacturer of industrial pressure transmitters in Europe.

Due to an aortic dissection , Keller was operated on in October 2012.

President of FC Winterthur

Keller was elected President of FC Winterthur on September 11, 2001 and saved the club, which was in a financial crisis. After 14 years at the helm of the FCW, Keller stepped down as president on June 30, 2015. During his presidency, Keller invested around 15 million Swiss francs in the football club. For the time after his resignation, he provided the association with 1.5 million Swiss francs.
