Hannoversche Latest News

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hannoversche Neuesten Nachrichten (HNN) was a newspaper that appeared in Hanover from 1946 to 1949 and was part of the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung .

history

As early as 1888 a sheet appeared under the title »Hannoversche Latest News« , but it was bought by the Jänecke brothers in 1894 and merged with the » Hannoversche Courier «. After the Second World War , on July 3, 1946 , the military government expressly licensed the HNN as an organ of the bourgeois parties CDU , FDP and Lower Saxony State Party (NLP) (later the German party ). Licensee was among others Henri Nannen (until December 31, 1946). One month later, on July 3, 1946, the first edition appeared, printed in the Anzeiger high-rise . On the instructions of the intelligence control of the military government, the HNN became exclusively the party newspaper of the CDU from January 1, 1947 (with a circulation of around 122,000 copies at last).

In August 1949 , the HNN merged with the Deutsche Volkszeitung (90,000 circulation), which appeared in Celle and was related to NLP, and which was printed from April 5, 1949 by the Land und Garten publishing company in Hanover, which belonged to Madsack , to form the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung .
