Hanns Koerfer
Hanns Koerfer (born March 15, 1909 in Cologne ; † August 10, 1994 there ) was a German architect .
Life
Koerfer was born as the son of the architect Jacob Koerfer . After graduating from high school in Cologne and then studying at the Technical University of Braunschweig , he started his own business in his hometown in 1935. From 1958 to 1978 he worked with Hans Menne in the Koerfer and Menne office community . Hanns Koerfer's younger brother Franz (1913–1993) also worked as an architect in Cologne. Another brother is the entrepreneur and art collector Jacques Koerfer (1902–1990).
Hanns Koerfer was married to Anna Maria, born Friediger (1910–1996). He died in 1994 at the age of 85. The couple's grave is in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne .
Architectural style
Koerfer represented a modern, moderate conservatism in his buildings, such as the Stuttgart school had developed. Works by him have also come down to us as an interior designer. B. the bar of the Cologne tennis and hockey club Stadion Rot-Weiß .

- 1936: Villa for the widow of the surgeon Paul Frangenheim in Cologne-Marienburg , Leyboldstraße 54b (under monument protection )
- 1952–1953: Administration building of the Kölnische Rückversicherung (today: Gen Re ) in Cologne, Theodor-Heuss-Ring, together with Hermann von Berg
- 1954: New construction of the clubhouse for the KTHC Stadium Rot-Weiss in the Cologne city forest (AG with the brothers Bunge , Günter and Hans Bunge)
- 1954–1957: Building group of the Italian Cultural Institute / Italian Consulate General / Petrarca Institute in Cologne, Universitätsstrasse
- 1955–1957: Bank building of the Herstatt Bank in Cologne, Unter Sachsenhausen (today used by the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry )
