Franz-Heinrich Sobotka

Franz-Heinrich Sobotka (born December 24, 1907 in Vienna ; † November 12, 1988 in West Berlin ) was a German architect .

Life

Sobotka studied at the Academy for Applied Arts in Vienna . There he attended the master classes of Josef Hoffmann and Oskar Strnad and then worked in Hugo Gorge's studio . From 1927 he lived in Berlin, where he initially worked in the studios of Bruno Paul and Erich Mendelsohn and received decisive influences.

Since 1938 he worked independently; since 1945 he was associated with Gustav Müller , a college friend from Vienna. From 1945 to 1951, Hermann Fehling was initially involved in this partnership . In 1970, Müller left the company and long-time employee and atelier boss Hans-Jürgen Juschkus became a partner.

Sobotka's focus was on commercial and medium-sized high-rise buildings in post-war Berlin.

Franz-Heinrich Sobotka was a member of the Association of German Architects (BDA), the Architects and Engineers Association in Berlin and the Vienna Secession .
