Galina Grigoryeva

Galina Grigorjewa ( Estonian Galina Grigorjeva ; born December 2, 1962 in Simferopol ) is a Ukrainian composer living in Estonia .

life and work

Galina Grigoryeva studied in Simferopol and with Oleksandr Krassotow at the Odessa Conservatory . In 1991 she completed her studies with Juri Falik at the St. Petersburg Conservatory . After marrying an Estonian , she studied from 1994 to 1998 at the Estonian Music Academy in Tallinn with Lepo Sumera .

Grigoryeva now lives in the Estonian capital as a freelance composer. Her work is primarily characterized by references to Orthodox church music and early European polyphony . Since 1994 she has been a member of the Estonian Association of Composers ( Estonian Eesti Heliloojate Liit ).
