Hannser Church

The Hannser Church is in a clearing near Brenitz in the municipality of Glödnitz . The house of God consecrated to John the Baptist is a branch church of Altenmarkt and is a listed building ( list entry ).

Building description

The church, first mentioned in 1184 (?) Or 1208, is a Romanesque building with a six-sided roof turret , a retracted choir with a straight choir closure. The wooden porch is marked 1850. On the south wall of the choir is a fresco of St. Christopher from the first half of the 16th century.

The nave has a flat roof, the square choir has a stenciled flat ceiling from the first half of the 16th century.

Facility

The cartilage altar from the middle of the 17th century consists of a small aedicule with a split-segment gable . The center of the altar shows John the Baptist and two unknown male saints on the lateral cheeks. The altarpiece is a picture of the Madonna. A Roman grave inscription fragment for Priminus and Veneria has been incorporated into the cafeteria .

The pulpit with ornamental flat carvings was built in 1539. The church also features a 17th century Johannis bowl .
