Hannsjörg Ubl

Hannsjörg Ubl (born December 11, 1935 in Vienna ) is an Austrian provincial Roman archaeologist .

Life

After attending grammar school in Klosterneuburg , Ubl first studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna from 1954 and from 1963 classical archeology and ancient history at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in 1969. From 1956 to 1970 Ubl worked for various architectural offices in Austria, from 1970 until his retirement he worked for the Federal Monuments Office . From 1986 to 2002 he worked part-time as a university lecturer for Roman Provincial Archeology at the University of Vienna, and in 1995 he was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Classical Archeology.
