Hans-Albert Walter (literary scholar)

Hans-Albert Walter (born June 3, 1935 in Hofheim am Taunus ; † February 22, 2016 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German literary scholar with a focus on German exile literature .

Career

From 1976 to 1981 Walter headed the Hamburg Office for German Exile Literature (today: Walter A. Berendsohn Research Center for German Exile Literature ) at the University of Hamburg. He then worked as a freelance science journalist and literary scholar.

In predominantly voluntary research, he dealt with German exile literature. His main work is his German Exile Literature 1933–1950 , which appeared in several volumes.
