Hans-Dieter Roos (football coach)

Hans-Dieter Roos (born May 22, 1937 in Simmern / Hunsrück ) is a former German football coach .

Life

As an active player, he played at VfR Simmern and Marathon Remscheid . With Remscheid he became German amateur champion in 1968 . In 1972 he successfully completed his training as a football teacher. His first job in the professional division of the Bundesliga took place from 1972 to 1975 at 1. FC Köln as a youth and amateur coach. In 1975/76 he became assistant coach under Dietrich Weise at Eintracht Frankfurt and also looked after their amateurs. When Weise changed to Fortuna Düsseldorf , Roos was briefly head coach at Eintracht from July 1 to November 8, 1976. After Eintracht was only in 16th place after twelve season games, he was dismissed. The Hungarian Gyula Lóránt became the new head coach of the team around Jürgen Grabowski and Bernd Hölzenbein . This position was also his last as head coach in the Bundesliga . He went down in the history of Eintracht Frankfurt as the first coach to be dismissed during a Bundesliga season.

He later worked for Eintracht Trier , the Stuttgarter Kickers , ESV Ingolstadt and SpVgg Fürth in the 2nd Bundesliga .
