Hans-Georg Koppensteiner

Hans-Georg Koppensteiner (born June 15, 1936 in Ansbach ) is a German lawyer and now a professor emeritus for civil law and European law at the University of Salzburg .

Life

He did his doctorate in Tübingen with a thesis on "The prohibition of subsidies in the Treaty on European Coal and Steel" in 1964. He studied at the Law School of the University of California (Berkeley) and obtained a Master of Law degree came in the same year. Since 1966 he has been assistant to Kurt Biedenkopf in Bochum.

1970 then the habilitation and award of the Venia legendi for the subjects: civil law, commercial and economic law, IPR and comparative law, European law. He then held various visiting professorships and received a gold medal of honor from the State of Salzburg .
