Hans-Georg Warken (born May 1, 1956 in Saarlouis ) is a lawyer and member of the Constitutional Court of Saarland .

Life and activity

At the Saarland University studied law Warken and passed his legal state in 1981 and 1983rd Since September 1983 he has been a lawyer in Püttlingen / Saar. Warken has been a member of the Saarland Constitutional Court since 1996. The third term as constitutional judge, to which the state parliament of Saarland elected him on February 20, 2008, ended on February 19, 2014. Warken accompanied several committees of inquiry in the Saarland state parliament, including the Bähr committee of inquiry, the committee of inquiry for student dormitories and the Zeithammer committee of inquiry. Warken has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Volksbank Püttlingen since 1985 and its chairman since 1991. After the merger of Volksbank Püttlingen with Volksbank Saar-West in 1997, he was initially deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Volksbank Saar-West and was chairman of the supervisory board of Volksbank Saar-West from 2003 until the bank merged with Volksbank Saarlouis to form Volksbank Westliche Saar plus eG . Warken was a member of the supervisory board of this new bank until the end of 2016 and then left at his own request. On June 27, 2018, he was elected Chairman of the Union Foundation's board of directors.

Awards

On March 2, 2017, Warken was awarded the title of Justizrat as a “symbol of recognition for special services to the Saarland and its citizens, for outstanding achievements or for any other special occasion”.
