The Volksbank Saar-West eG was a cooperative bank based in Saarlouis in Saarland . With total assets of around EUR 475 million, it was one of the largest Volksbanks in Saarland. In December 2013, it employed around 141 people, including 20 trainees and 8 interns.
history
On January 4, 1928, it was founded as Saarländische Beamtenbank eGmbH in Saarbrücken. The initiator was the board of the Saar officials' association .
The special structure of the civil service banks is blurred in 1960. An institute that was limited to the original function of a civil service bank no longer has a sufficient business basis in Saarland. A reorientation and expansion is initiated. In 1967 there was a merger with Ensdorfer Volksbank to form volksbank + beamtenbank saar. 1968 saw the merger with Volksbank Schwalbach - Hülzweiler . This only emerged in 1967 from the merger of Volksbank Schwalbach-Griesborn with Raiffeisenkasse Hülzweiler. In 1969 the name of volksbank saar was changed. In 1973 a new name was created, volksbank saar-west. 1977 saw the opening of the main office in Saarlouis, Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring 9. In 1987 the merger with Volksbank Felsberg and 1997 with Volksbank Püttlingen took place . Volksbank Saar-West became the new spelling of the name. 2001 was the beginning of a restructuring phase under new management. In 2006 the restructuring measures were completed. In 2009 the new office in Saarlouis, Großer Markt was opened and in 2011 the new office in Saarbrücken, Reichsstraße opposite the Europa-Galerie .
Most recently, Volksbank Saar-West was represented at 11 locations in Saarland with advice centers and branches, and there were also 5 self-service centers. It was one of the four largest cooperative banks in Saarland.
In 2014 the merger with Volksbank Saarlouis eG to form Volksbank Westliche Saar plus eG took place .
