Hans-Harald Schumacher

Hans-Harald Schumacher (born January 29, 1920 in Hamburg ; † November 16, 2008 ) was a German pathologist and tropical medicine specialist.

In 1952 he became a private lecturer and in 1959 an adjunct professor for general pathology and special pathological anatomy at the University of Hamburg. From 1968 to 1982 he was director of the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg and at the same time full professor for tropical medicine from 1968, which he remained until 1982.

At the Tropical Institute he headed the pathology department ( Paul Racz was his successor ).
