The Olympiastützpunkt Chemnitz / Dresden has been a cross-disciplinary support and service facility for top-class sport for national team athletes and their coaches since 1992 .

history

In 1992 the OSP was founded by the Olympiastützpunkt Chemnitz / Dresden eV . The OSP is currently one of 18 German Olympic training centers .

The office of the Olympiastützpunkt Chemnitz / Dresden eV is located in Reichenhainer Straße 154 in 09125 Chemnitz.

Locations and sports

As a surface OSP, he oversees the Altenberg, Chemnitz, Dresden, Klingenthal and Oberwiesenthal locations and thus currently 20 BSP and key sports (athletics / male gymnastics / female gymnastics / weightlifting / diving / rowing / mountain biking / female volleyball / figure skating / speed skating / short track / Cross-country skiing / nordic combined / biathlon / luge / bobsleigh / skeleton / ski jumping / basketball women / cycling track / water polo women).

An Olympic base sees itself and acts as an interface and service facility for top German sport. The focus of all efforts is always the athletes to be looked after and the provision of the ideal framework conditions for them.

The aim, and thus also the task, is to prepare the athletes in a responsible manner and in terms of training methodology for the competition highlights (e.g. World Championships or Olympic Games) in the best possible way, together with their coaches and the entire German base system as well as the top and state professional associations. Various support instruments are available to the Olympic bases for this purpose. Starting with training science, through physiotherapy, sports psychology and medical care, to career advice and individual environment management for the athletes

Elite schools of sport

The following elite schools of sport are connected to the Olympic base: Sportgymnasium and Sportoberschule Chemnitz, Sportgymnasium and Sportoberschule Dresden, Julius-Mosen-Gymnasium Oelsnitz branch Klingenthal and seminar school Auerbach, Landkreis-Gymnasium St.Annen branch Oberwiesenthal and Sportoberschule Jöhstadt branch Oberwiesenthal -Gymnasium Dippoldiswalde branch Altenberg and the Oberschule Geising branch Altenberg. At each location there is a boarding school for the athletes.

successes

Since 1992 athletes of the OSP Chemnitz / Dresden have won 30 gold medals, 36 silver medals and 35 bronze medals at the Olympic Games.
