Hans-Hermann Bartens

Hans-Hermann Bartens (born February 5, 1945 in Adelebsen ) is a Finnougrist from Germany .

Life

Hans-Hermann Bartens studied in Göttingen and Groningen . In 1978 he received his doctorate in Finnish-Ugric Studies from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . Since 1978 he has been teaching and researching at the Finnish-Ugric Department of the same university , until 1980 as a research assistant and then as an academic adviser .

Bartens is an important representative of Sami studies in Germany. His productive research areas are Sami linguistics and folklore .
