Hans-Jürgen Niehof

Hans-Jürgen Niehof (born February 10, 1941 in Stettin ) is a German computer scientist and was State Secretary in the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in the GDR .

biography

Hans-Jürgen Niehof grew up in Stralsund . After attending school and doing military service until 1961, he first studied domestic trade economics at the University of Rostock , and later from 1971 to 1973 data processing. He then worked in this area at Deutsche Post .

Niehof joined the NDPD in 1968 . After the fall of the Wall in the GDR , he took part in reform processes and in 1990 became Deputy Minister for Post and Press Sales at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in the GDR . In the de Maizière government , he served as Parliamentary State Secretary in the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications from May 2, 1990. After the resignation of Minister Emil Schnell, he held the position of managing director from August 1990 until reunification. Niehof then switched to the service of the Deutsche Bundespost, where he held various management positions until 2006.

Niehof joined the FDP in 1990 .
