Hans-Jürgen Voss

Hans-Jürgen Voss (born June 20, 1903 in Hütten (Schleswig) , † June 4, 1990 in Hohenwestedt ) was a German veterinarian and university professor .

Life

Hans-Jürgen Voss was the son of the farmer in Hütten bei Hohenwestedt Claus Hinrich Voss. In the winter semester of 1922/23 he began studying veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover and became a member of the Corps Normannia Hanover . As cand med. vet, he moved to the University of Gießen for the winter semester 1924/25 and joined the Corps Hubertia Gießen . In the summer semester of 1925 he returned to Hanover, where he received his veterinary license in the summer semester of 1927. In March 1928 he was at the University of Leipzig Dr. med vet. PhD. After working as an assistant at the surgical veterinary clinic in Leipzig, at the beginning of 1933 he switched to the veterinary clinic of the University of Breslau as senior assistant . After completing his habilitation in Leipzig in 1936, he became a private lecturer and head of the medical veterinary clinic at the University of Leipzig in November 1936. In 1937 he was appointed full professor for special pathology and therapy of pets and forensic veterinary medicine at the University of Leipzig. From 1939 to 1942 he did military service as a senior veterinarian. After the end of the Second World War he returned to his home in Holstein in Hütten, where he worked as a veterinarian. From 1949 to 1972 he ran a large animal practice in Nortorf. Until 1965 he was a lecturer for cattle at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover.
