Hans-Joachim Kann

Hans-Joachim Kann (born April 4, 1943 in Neuwied ; † August 20, 2015 in Trier ) was a German author , historian and city guide and until his retirement in 2007 he was a teacher of German and English at the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Trier .

Life

Kann studied German and English in Mainz and Lawrence / Kansas , and graduated with a doctorate on translation problems. His most famous works include the two novels "Der Stecher" and "The third arm from the right" , as well as other novels, non-fiction books, translations and city guides.

He is the namesake of the Dr.-Hans-Joachim-Kann Foundation , whose aim is to promote medieval archeology (period approx. 485–1600 AD) in Trier and in the Trier Land in the Trier State Museum and the successor institution via the framework of the state budget is out. The Bibliophile Society Trier PRO LIBRIS elected Hans-Joachim Kann as the successor of Prof. DDr. Franz Ronig, who was no longer running for reasons of age, as chairman.
