Hans-Joachim Kanold

Hans-Joachim Kanold (born July 29, 1914 in Breslau ; † November 19, 2012 ) was a German mathematician and university professor.

Life

Hans-Joachim Kanold studied mathematics . In 1941 he was at the University of Wroclaw at Georg Feigl Dr. rer. nat. PhD. He completed his habilitation at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen in 1950 and was appointed private lecturer and in 1954 an adjunct professor. In 1955 he moved as such to the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he was appointed associate professor in 1959, personal full professor in 1960 and full professor in 1967. In 1980 he retired.

Kanold dealt in particular with number theory , for example about perfect and friendly numbers . In total, he wrote around 70 scientific publications. From 1971 he was a member of the Braunschweigische Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft , from 1986 to 1988 as its general secretary. In 1986 he became an honorary member of the Corps Teutonia-Hercynia Braunschweig .
