Hans-Joachim Kuhl

Hans-Joachim Kuhl (born December 18, 1949 in Krefeld ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

After graduating from elementary school, Kuhl completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic and then worked as a toolmaker . After his military service he worked as a professional firefighter for the city of Krefeld. Kuhl, who had been a member of the FDP since 1972, was chairman of the FDP district association in Wesel from 1984.

From 1979 to 1984 he was councilor of the city of Kamp-Lintfort and chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there.

Kuhl was a member of the tenth and eleventh state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1985 to 1995 . He entered the state parliament via the state list of his party.

Kuhl, who from 1996 worked as treasurer of the North Rhine-Westphalian FDP, was managing director of the state association of North Rhine-Westphalia of his party until 2002. Because of the denomination of donations and the suspicion of a violation of the party law, he was dismissed in 2002 in the course of the affair of the then North Rhine-Westphalian party chairman Jürgen Möllemann , whose close confidante he was considered to be.
