Hans-Joachim Wandke (born February 9, 1955 ) was a soccer player in the highest GDR soccer class, the Oberliga . He played there from 1973 to 1981 for FC Hansa Rostock .

life and career

In 1971, Wandke was accepted into the junior league team of FC Hansa Rostock. In the same year he also played his first of 15 international junior matches. It was the encounter between the GDR and Finland (2-0) in which he was called up as a central defender. As a junior, he played his first men's game in the second team of FC Hansa when he also played in the central defense on March 31, 1972 in the GDR league league game TSG Wismar - FC Hansa Rostock II (3: 3) . At the same time, he finished his training as a mechanical engineer and then took up a degree in engineering and economics.

Wandke made his debut in the GDR league in the 1973/74 season. On September 15, 1973, the 6th matchday, he was substituted on in the 72nd minute for left winger Lothar Hahn . In his first league season, Wandke played a total of ten times in the league, preferably as a central defender, five times over the entire 90 minutes. In the 1974/75 season he was only used in five league games, at the end of the season Hansa was relegated to the GDR league. In the following years the Rostockers developed into an elevator team. The immediate resurgence in 1976, in which Wandke was involved with 25 point games, was followed by the equally immediate relegation, and this continued until 1980. During his time in Rostock, Wandke played second class with the first team for three seasons, but in those years he also played 65 points in the first team. He played his last and 53rd league game on April 15, 1981 in the encounter between Chemie Böhlen and FC Hansa (2-2). During this time, he also played two international matches with the GDR youth team.

As part of his military service, Wandke switched to the Vorwärts Havelberg army sports community in 1981 and played there in the third-class district league Magdeburg . After his discharge from the army, he joined the GDR league club Post Neubrandenburg in the summer of 1983 , but had already been deleted from the 1984/85 contingent without giving a reason.
