Hans-Kurt Hill (born July 21, 1950 in Heusweiler ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school and business school, Hill completed an apprenticeship in wholesale and foreign trade . From 1971 to 1973 he did military service .

Hill continued his education at the Higher Business School and the Telekolleg and worked for the Daimler-Benz AG branch in Saarbrücken until 1981 . He then worked as sales manager at Saar-Leasing AG and then from 1984 to 1991 as sales manager at GTH KG . Hill was managing director in other companies until 1994. He has been self-employed since 1994.

Political party

Hill belonged to the SPD until 1994 and was only politically active at the local level in his hometown.

In 1998 he became a member of the PDS and was regional manager of the PDS in Saarland from 1999 to 2003 . Hill was state chairman of the PDS and the Left Party from 2003 until the merger with the WASG . He has not been a member of the state executive of the party Die Linke since the party congress on September 9, 2007. From November 2009 to November 2015 he was again a member of the state executive committee of the Left. Saarland. In June 2010 he became district manager and from 2013 to October 2014 he was deputy chairman of the Saarbrücken district association. Since October 2009 he has been with LINKE after moving in. in the local council in Heusweiler, the parliamentary group leader. He is a member of the personnel and finance committee of his community. He is also a member of the "Energy and Climate Policies" working group in the European Left.

Hans-Kurt Hill was a member of the German Bundestag in the 16th electoral term (from 2005 to 2009). Here he was the energy policy spokesman for the left group . He entered the Bundestag in 2005 via the Saarland state list. He was a full member of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and a deputy on the Committees on Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and on Economy and Technology.
