The "pension war" had previously reached the public's attention through an article he initiated in the magazine "Stern".

With his book published in 2014 about the food supply for Jews during the Second World War and his work on money as a means of propaganda in the Weimar Republic and in the Third Reich from 2015, he again entered uncharted territory and thus not only confirmed his role as a renowned numismatist, but also as a committed historian.
