World Money Fair

The World Money Fair is an international coin exchange.

1970 was in Munich by Albert Beck the "Organization of European coins Exchanges" (OEMB) was founded with the idea of building a strong collectors market. Two years later, the organization held in Basel the "first International Coin Exchange ” . This was repeated in the following years in Bern and Zurich . Over time, this exchange developed through the participation of state mints to become the "European Coin Exchange" and then the "World Money Fair" . Up to 40 nations now take part in the exchange.

In 2006 the stock exchange took place in Berlin for the first time . At the opening on February 3, 2006, Parliamentary State Secretary Karl Diller presented the Schleswig-Holstein Finance Minister Rainer Wiegard with the newly published two-euro coin with the Lübeck Holsten Gate on the back.

In addition to exhibitions, the coin exchange also hosts competitions, presentations of new coin programs, special trade fair issues, auctions, lectures and awards. The Vreneli Prize for Services in Numismatics is also awarded annually.
