Karl Diller (born January 27, 1941 in Kaiserslautern ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1998 to 2009 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister of Finance .

Life and work

From 1947 to 1951 the elementary school in Kaiserslautern and then the state mathematical and natural science high school in Kaiserslautern, where he passed the Abitur in 1961 . Then Diller attended the University of Education in Landau and worked as a teacher from 1963 to 1979 .

Karl Diller is married and has one daughter.

Political party

Diller has been a member of the SPD since 1968.

MP

From 1979 to 1987 he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

From 1987 to 2009 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1994 to 1998 he was spokesman for the budget working group of the SPD parliamentary group .

Karl Diller was elected to the Bundestag in 1998 and 2002 as a directly elected member of the Trier constituency , otherwise always via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list.

Public offices

After the federal election in 1998, Diller was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance in the federal government led by Chancellor Gerhard Schröder on October 27, 1998 . In this office he was also a member of the federal government led by Chancellor Angela Merkel since November 22, 2005 .

With a certificate dated March 5, 1987, Karl Diller was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon .
