Hans-Michael Holczer
Hans-Michael Holczer (born December 22, 1953 in Herrenberg ) is a German cycling manager.
The teacher for history, mathematics and sport at the Friedrich-Schiller-Realschule in Böblingen was manager of the amateur team RSV Öschelbronn from 1975 to 1996 (1994–1995 RSV HISTOR Öschelbronn , 1996 RSV Schauff Öschelbronn ). In 1997 the cycling team entered professional cycling under the name Schauff Öschelbronn professional cycling team . This team was sponsored by the Gerolsteiner Brunnen company from 1999 and has been called Team Gerolsteiner since then .
In Herrenberg he runs a bike shop and a cycling marketing company.
When Bernhard Kohl, the second Gerolsteiner driver after Stefan Schumacher , was convicted of blood doping in the A-sample with EPO on October 13, 2008 , Hans-Michael Holczer announced his resignation. At the end of April 2009, Davide Rebellin , another driver of his team, tested positive for the doping agent CERA during follow-up checks for the 2008 Olympic Games . On March 29, 2013, Stefan Schumacher confessed to years of doping and publicly accused Holczer of having knowledge of doping practices.
In July 2010, Hans-Michael Holczer published his memoirs in the book Guaranteed positive: My life for cycling . In the 2010/11 school year, Holczer worked again as a teacher at the Friedrich Schiller Realschule in Böblingen.
In mid-September 2011 it was announced that Holczer would be the successor to Andrej Tschmil as General Manager of Katusha Management SA , which u. a. the Katusha team operates, was committed. In early October 2012, despite a four-year contract, he ended his collaboration with the team and was replaced on October 8, 2012 by Vyacheslav Yekimov .
