Hans-Paul Steiner

Hans-Paul Steiner (born May 20, 1942 in Stuttgart ) is a German chef .

Career

After training in Freudenstadt , Steiner went to the “Hotel Beau-Séjour” in Château-d'Oex in Switzerland in 1963, to the “Hotel Metropo” in Basel in 1964 and to the Hotel Hilton in London in 1965 . In 1966 the “Hotel Lancaster” in Paris followed . From 1970 to 1975 he was head chef at the “Traube” in Stuttgart and in 1976 at the “Hotel Schlossgarten” in Stuttgart.

In 1980 he became the owner of the “Hirschen” in Sulzburg , which he ran with his wife Claude, a French woman. The daughter Douce Steiner apprenticed to her father. After her years of traveling, she and her husband Udo Weiler officially took over the “Hirschen” kitchen from 1997, with Hans-Paul Steiner continuing to work in the kitchen. From 1995 to 2008 the kitchen was awarded two Michelin stars , and since then has been awarded one Michelin star. In 2008, his daughter Douce also became the owner of the restaurant, and since 2012 the kitchen has been awarded two Michelin stars again.
