Hans-Peter Schurz is a German conductor , choir director and university lecturer .
past
Schurz studied music education and history at the Humboldt University in Berlin . He then studied choir and ensemble conducting at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin .
From 1967 to 2004 he was a school musician and choir conductor at the Karl-Friedrich-Schinkel-Gymnasium Neuruppin . From 1980 to 1994 Schurz was honorary lecturer for choral conducting at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Since 2005 he has been teaching choral conducting in the music department in Campinas ( Brazil ) at the State University “Zeferino Vaz”.
Schurz held conducting seminars around the world.

Awards
In 2004, Hans-Peter Schurz was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his services to choral music.
In 2006 Schurz was appointed artistic "Professor Honorario de Regencia Coral / Universidade Estadual de Campinas ".
