Hans-Peter Vogt (born February 13, 1950 in Darmstadt ) is a German author. He has been working as an author since 2002, initially exclusively in the field of travel guides in the field of bicycle trips, and from 2008 for novels and non-fiction books.

Life

Hans-Peter Vogt was born in Darmstadt in 1950, he has two older sisters. The father was a builder, the mother a housekeeping teacher, and after the birth of the children a housewife. Vogt went to primary school ( Wilhelm Leuschner School ) in Darmstadt , then to grammar school ( Georg Büchner School ) and moved to 11th grade at the Victoriaschule (musical branch, with art as a major). He graduated from high school in 1968.

He then began a commercial apprenticeship at the HK Mc Cann Company advertising agency in Frankfurt am Main. At the same time, a distance learning course in photography ( Famous Photographers School ) took place. Then worked as a photo assistant at Mc Cann, in market research and at ZDF as a camera assistant. In 1973, the beginning of a teacher training course in Frankfurt am Main, with a focus on art education, polytechnics, social studies, pedagogy, with the minor subjects psychology, art history and economics. He passed the 1st state examination in 1976. Then he began a postgraduate course in education (2 years) with eligibility for a doctorate.

From 1974 onwards, while studying, he worked as a graphic designer ( freelancer ) for the Jünger Verlag Offenbach for six years . The completion of the doctorate in education was 1981/82. At the same time, he completed his legal clerkship with the 2nd state examination (1980–1982). In 1980 he married the teacher Helga Kapp. The marriage had two children.

The plan was to join the university service, instead he remembered his roots in craftsmanship, businessman and graphic designer and worked independently in the field of restoration and buying and selling from 1982, with his own workshop and shop / gallery, long in Frankfurt am Main , last in Darmstadt until 1995. After moving to Groß-Umstadt , he operated wholesale in the area of ​​antique accessories, tool wholesale and retail, then the first newspaper project of an advertising newspaper (monthly newspaper). He completed additional training as a web designer from 1998–2001 with a diploma.

This was followed by work for internet platforms and as a freelance journalist. Search engines, advertising platforms, material articles on various topics, trade fair reports, test reports, video films on the topics of travel and music, photos, then a series of digital bicycle travel guides and work for Kompass Verlag (Innsbruck), as a freelance travel book author. Its own publishing house has existed since 2002. Extensive publications in the field of travel CD and DVD have been made since 2002. Novels appeared from 2008, printed travel guides (print media) from 2015. Travel guides and novels / non-fiction books have also been published as e-books since 2017 (distribution Libreka ).

Regular exhibitions took place at regional book fairs, such as in Stockstadt (Rhine), Neckarsteinach, Mainz (mini press fair), Nidderau-Windecken, including readings.
