The Hans Viessmann School ( HVS for short ) is a vocational school in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district with two locations in Frankenberg and Bad Wildungen . The school is named after Hans Vießmann , the founder of the Viessmann factory .

Around 90 teachers at the Frankenberg site and around 35 at the Bad Wildungen site teach a total of around 2,400 students. In Frankenberg there are departments for metal technology, electrical engineering, housekeeping and business administration. In Bad Wildungen, however, mainly health and nutritional professions are trained. The school also offers the opportunity to acquire ESOL certificates from the University of Cambridge .

The school participates in the Hesse-wide pilot project self-responsibility plus (SV +). From 2002 to 2006 the school took part in the nationwide model experiment to learn and live democracy .

Since January 1st, 2014 the Hans-Viessmann-Schule has been a “legally independent vocational school”.

There is a school partnership with the French high school Lycée Paul Héroult in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne .
