Hans-Walter Stork

Hans-Walter Stork (* 1960 ) is a German art historian and graduate theologian.

Stork studied Catholic theology , philosophy , Christian archeology and art history in Trier and Rome. In 1987 he received his doctorate in Trier with a thesis on the Codex Vindobonensis 2554 of the Austrian National Library as Dr. phil. He is a contributor to the third edition of the Lexicon for Theology and Church . He is co-editor of the Festschrift for the 60th birthday of the Trier art historian Franz J. Ronig (1989), the Festschrift for the 50th birthday of the Protestant theologian Bernd Jaspert (1995) and the Festschrift for the 65th birthday of the Kiel art historian Ulrich Kuder (2008). In 2015 he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Kiel. Since 2006 he has been a member of the International Society for Theological Medieval Studies . From 2005 to 2016 Stork was custodian of the manuscript department and subject librarian for theology and philosophy at the Hamburg State and University Library .

Since August 1, 2016, Hans-Walter Stork has succeeded Hermann-Josef Schmalor as director of the Archbishop's Academic Library (EAB) in Paderborn .
