Hans-Werner Pickel

Hans-Werner Pickel (* 23. February 1948 in Wilhelmshaven ; † 19th January 2014 ) was a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

After attending primary school, Pickel did an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant. He then worked as a wholesale merchant in Wilhelmshaven until 1977. Subsequently, until his election to the state parliament, he was managing director of the SPD in the Weser-Ems district in the north .

politics

Pickel had been a member of the SPD since 1974. He was chairman of the Marienhafe local association and the working group for employee issues in the Aurich sub-district. He was also a member of the board and executive committee in Aurich. Since 1991 he has been a councilor of the Brookmerland Congregation . Pickel was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1998 to 2008.

Private

Pickel was also a member of numerous associations, including a member of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt and the Social Association Germany . He was married and had two children.
