Hans Bauszus

Hans Bauszus (born August 15, 1871 in Forsthaus Steinspring , Friedeberg district (Neumark) ; † July 3, 1955 in Bad Mergentheim ) was a German SS brigade leader .

At the age of 20, Hans Bauszus entered the Prussian military service, he was adjutant at the headquarters of the Imperial Protection Force South West Africa and an artillery staff officer when the First World War broke out in 1914 . In 1932 he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 843.238). In 1931 he had already joined the SS (SS no. 16.471), in which he was at first the Untersturmführer. In 1933 he rose to Hauptsturmführer and Sturmbannführer and in the same year to SS-Standartenführer . On April 20, 1936, at the age of 65, he was promoted to SS-Oberführer . At that time he was on the staff of the Reichsführer SS . On September 12, 1937, he was promoted to SS-Brigadführer and later worked as such in the colonial policy office of the NSDAP .
