Hans Biallas (Nazi functionary)

Hans Biallas (born March 22, 1903 in Berlin , † after 1940) was a German National Socialist functionary. The trained lithographer was head of the press office of the German Labor Front and chief editor of several National Socialist publications.

Life

He was the son of the secret secretary Gustav Biallas and his wife Elsbeth nee Jerxsen. After attending the secondary school in Magdeburg , which he left after completing Obersecunda, Hans Biallas began an apprenticeship as a lithographer . Then he worked as a graphic draftsman. As a temporary volunteer, he was directly involved in the Kapp Putsch . Later he placed himself in the service of the NSDAP and worked full-time for the Reich leadership of this party, which appointed him head of the press office of the German Labor Front (DAF) in May 1933 and head of the press and propaganda office of the DAF in January 1934. As chief editor he published the periodicals Arbeitstum und Informationsdienst . In 1940/41 Werner Scheunemann succeeded Hans Biallas in these DAF offices.

In addition, Hans Biallas was also an assessor at the Berlin Film Inspectorate and a member of the leadership team of the Berlin Regional Association of the Reich Association of the German Press (RDP), the professional organization for journalists.
