Hans Bussmeyer

Hans August Hermann Bußmeyer (born March 29, 1853 in Braunschweig , † September 21, 1930 in Pöcking ) was a German composer , pianist and music teacher.

The younger brother of the pianist Hugo Bußmeyer trained as a pianist at the royal music school in Munich with Carl Bärmann until 1872 and with Franz Liszt in Weimar and then went on concert tours in South America . In 1874 he became an assistant teacher, in 1876 a teacher and 1881 professor at the royal music school in Munich, which he headed from 1912 to 1919 after being promoted to the Academy of Music. He was married to the singer Mathilde Weckerlin (1848–1928) since 1877.

Bußmeyer composed a piano concerto and numerous piano pieces. His cantata Germanenzug became famous .
