Hans Chmel

Hans (also Johann) Chmel (born May 6, 1903 in Landskron ; † May 1945 ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a cloth merchant, Chmel studied law and political science in Prague after attending grammar school in Landskron . During his studies he became a member of the Carolina Prague fraternity in 1921 (see list of student associations in Prague ). He was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . In 1938 he became a member of the NSDAP . After completing his studies, he worked as a lawyer in Wagstadt , where he became provisional district administrator in 1939 and final district administrator in 1940 . In 1945 he was after the expulsion on the run murdered together with his wife and daughter.
