Hans Edler (born March 23, 1945 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish musician.

Career

Edler began his musical career in the 1960s with the Ghostriders and WE4, who made music in the style of the guitar rock of the Shadows and Ventures . At the beginning of 1970 he was one of the pioneers of electronic pop music in Sweden and with his self-produced album Elektron Kukéso (1971) he achieved fame beyond Sweden, even if the great commercial success did not materialize. This was followed by the Spökhistorier (1972), where actor Stig Järrel reads haunted stories accompanied by Edlers electronic music.

In the following years he switched to the cover of hit parade songs and released an album series called Jukebox Graffiti . The second album even made it into the Swedish charts in 1978. In addition, he devoted himself to disco music and so he created his own space disco album entitled Space Vision (1979) and a disco cover album ( Disco-Time , 1979).

In the 80s Edler worked as a producer for other musicians and for Swedish television and composed, among other things, choral music.

He later returned to his musical roots and made a name for himself as a 1960s revival musician. He had his greatest success in 2009 with Remember the Sixties . As a guitarist and singer with orchestral accompaniment, he reached number 8 in the album charts with the 1960s-style album. Thereupon Edler released the song Black Fender as a single the following year . The song was written in 2006 as part of his Hans Edler meets Ricky Nelson tour and had become a concert highlight and a regular encore. Black Fender was so popular that it entered the Swedish singles chart at number 1 after its release .
