Hans Eijkelboom (* 1949 in Arnhem ) is a Dutch conceptual photographer .

life and work

Eijkelboom studied from 1967 to 1968 at the Academie voor Kunst en Vormgeving ’s-Hertogenbosch , from 1968 to 1973 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem . From 1971 to 1972 he was a participant in De Ateliers in Amsterdam.

Hans Eijkelboom is a street photographer . He works in series and focuses his photographic interest on the clothes of the passers-by, which he photographs from chest height. For 25 years he has been touring cities around the world, including Amsterdam, New York, Paris and Shanghai. He is primarily dedicated to the fashionable styles and attributes of the oncoming people, which he exhibits sorted by categories - people in flannel shirts, fur coats or band shirts are grouped together in series. At first they suggest uniformity - and at second glance they then present individual details.

Hans Eijkelboom published a total of more than 30 photo books and was a participant in documenta 14 in Kassel in 2017 .
