Hans Engel (lawyer)

Hans Engel (* 1935 ) is a German administrative lawyer and ministerial official.

Life

Engel worked for many years in the ministerial administration of North Rhine-Westphalia, first in the Ministry of Science of North Rhine-Westphalia and then in the Ministry of the Interior in Düsseldorf . As ministerial director he was head of department I ("Constitution, data protection, foreigners and asylum affairs"). At the same time he was also the regional returning officer . and member of the constituency commission for the German Bundestag. Collaboration in the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge (federal executive committee).

In 1989 he was a companion and advisor to Interior Minister Herbert Schnoor (NRW) on a trip to the Yezidi villages of Tur Abdin.

A commemorative publication was dedicated to his departure from service.

In collaboration with his predecessor Walter Gensior, he published numerous papers on the elections at federal and state level.
