Hans Erich Kalischer

Hans Erich Kalischer (born September 28, 1903 in Wittstock / Dosse ; died June 6, 1966 in New York City ) was a German-American economist and photographer.

Life

Kalischer was the son of Leopold Kalischer . After attending a humanistic grammar school, he planned to study medicine, but on the advice of his father he studied economics at the University of Cologne from 1921 . In 1926 he received his diploma and at the beginning of 1928 he was honored with the work "Accounting success determination in machine factories. Until August 1929 he was then assistant to Eugen Schmalenbach and particularly worked on an appraisal for an Upper Silesian ore mine. He then worked as an auditor for Deutsche Warentreuhand AG , among other things .

In 1937 he emigrated to the USA and from there returned to Germany after the Second World War as a civil employee of the American military government.

In 1947 he married Ilse Hennemann and returned with her to the USA. There he trained as a photographer and first became an industrial photographer in a laboratory and later a medical photographer in a hospital in New York.
