Hans Faltin

Hans Faltin (born September 26, 1896 in Halle (Saale) ; † June 28, 1961 in Dresden ) was a German energy technician specializing in technical thermodynamics .

After completing his studies, Hans Faltin was chief engineer at the thermal power station at the Technical University of Wroclaw . From 1934 he was a lecturer and from 1939 professor at this university. In 1943 he became professor of technical thermodynamics at the Brno University of Technology . After a brief activity at the university in Halle (Saale) in 1945, he worked at the chemical works in Leuna from 1946 . In 1949 he was appointed director of the Institute for Thermodynamics and Thermal Fluid Machines at the Technical University of Dresden and as holder of the chair of the same name.

In 1953 he was accepted as a full member of the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin .

His textbook Technische Wärmelehre was published in several editions by Akademie-Verlag Berlin .
