Hans Günther Aach

Hans Günther Aach (* 2. October 1919 in Oldenburg , † 4. December 1999 in Aachen ) was a German botanist .

Career

Aach received his doctorate in March 1952 at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Göttingen . In July 1961 he submitted his habilitation thesis at the University of Cologne . On December 31, 1962 he was appointed associate professor for botany at RWTH Aachen University. From January 12, 1965, he was full professor and director of the Botanical Institute there. His retirement took place on March 1, 1984.

The focus of his scientific work was on proteins in viruses. He worked on the handbook of biology .
