Hans Günther Tillmann

Hans Günther Tillmann (* 1936 in Dabringhausen ) is professor emeritus for phonetics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He had a decisive influence on the development of phonetics in Germany. He became known, among other things, for his distinction between the levels of prosody .

Life

After studying music with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Tillmann decided to study phonetics in Bonn. His teachers included Gerold Ungeheuer and Werner Meyer-Eppler . After graduating, he set up the Institute for Phonetics and Linguistic Communication at the University of Munich .
