Hans Georg Junginger

Hans Georg Junginger (born November 4, 1943 in Gera ) is a German SPD politician .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Meisenheim in 1964 , Junginger studied law and economics in Heidelberg , Berlin and Tübingen . In 1968 he passed the first state examination and in 1971 the assessor examination. He works as a lawyer in Weinheim . Junginger is married and has four children.

Political activity

From 1971 to 1975 and from 1984 to 1996 Junginger was a member of the Weinheim municipal council. From 1986 he was also chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. From 1999 to 2004 he was a member of the district council of the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis and the association assembly of the Rhein-Neckar-Odenwald region . In 1996 Junginger was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg for constituency 39 (Weinheim) . There he was local policy spokesman for the SPD and from 2003 to 2006 domestic policy spokesperson. From 2006 Junginger was chairman of the interior committee in the state parliament.

On August 7, 2009, Junginger announced that he would resign from his state parliament mandate at the end of August 2009. Gerhard Kleinböck moved up for him in the state parliament.
