Hans Glauche

Hans Glauche (born February 7, 1928 in Freital ; † August 9, 1981 there ) was a German actor , cabaret artist , cabaret writer and cabaret director. His cabaret performances as Gustav in a duo with Fritz Ehlert as Gustav & Erich , especially his exclamation during performances and his speech: “Nu, mei Erich” enjoyed cult status.

Life

Hans Glauche completed an apprenticeship as a legal clerk in the early 1950s. As such, he made his first amateur appearances as a cabaret artist, u. a. at the cabaret of SDAG Wismut “Die Funken”. In 1959 he worked in Berlin for the "Berliner Spottgemeinschaft", his mentor at the time was Gerd E. Schäfer , who encouraged him in every way (and suggested that he should become a cabaret writer).

At the same time, Hans Glauche was very much connected to his homeland and went to the Dresden " Herkuleskeule " after its (re) establishment in 1961 . Not only in Gustav & Erich he worked in every program with: His cabaret performances were both in solo performances (legendary: "One way ticket") and on the side of Manfred Schubert , Gisela pit , Jutta Rockstroh or Manfred Knodel and Wolfgang Schaller on on stage and shaped the “Hercules Club” for almost twenty years. About his appearances it was said: "He could do an editorial of the ND - people would laugh to death."

In addition, he wrote numerous cabaret texts, especially for the Gustav & Erich -Sketche. As the first full-length cabaret piece in the GDR, he wrote the My Fair Lady adaptation "A Little Bit", for which he also took over the direction and which was taken over by numerous other cabaret stages in the GDR. He also took on supporting roles on television, and he also worked for radio.

After a short but serious illness, he died at the age of 53. In honor of his achievements, the then director of the “Herkuleskeule”, Manfred Schubert, decided not to continue the formats that were tailored to Hans Glauche (such as Gustav & Erich ) with other actors or to revive them in any other way: For example, Gustav & Erich remains historical connected with him (and Fritz Ehlert).

Individual evidence

  1. Metzler's Lexicon of Cabaret gives Freiberg as the place of birth , which is clearly wrong, and Dresden as the place of death , which may indicate that Hans Glauche died in a Dresden hospital.
