Hans H. Barschkis

Hans Heinrich Barschkis (born June 8, 1920 in Lübeck ; † June 29, 1998 ) was a German manager.

Career

Barschkis grew up in Mallorca, where his father worked as an export merchant. During the Second World War he was a submarine commander.

He was a pioneer of the German automotive industry on the Latin American market. When Volkswagen de México SA was founded in January 1964 , Barschkis became its first president. Under his leadership, VW was able to expand its leading position in Mexico. After his resignation as Chairman of the Board of Management, he was appointed Honorary President of Volkswagen de México.
