Hans Heinrich Hürlimann (politician)

Hans Heinrich Hürlimann (born September 6, 1806 in Richterswil ; † February 28, 1875 there ) was a Swiss politician and businessman . From 1848 to 1851 he was a member of the National Council.

The son of the textile entrepreneur Johannes Hürlimann received private lessons in Wädenswil after primary school . He completed a commercial apprenticeship in Milan and then studied paint chemistry in Paris . Together with his brother Johann Jakob Hürlimann, who was ten years older than him , he owned several spinning mills as well as a printing and dyeing works. He was also a member of the board of directors of the bank in Zurich from 1862 to 1874 . As a supporter of Alfred Escher , he promoted the founding of the Schweizerische Kreditanstalt . Hürlimann was a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council from 1847 to 1869 . In the first elections to the National Council in October 1848 he was elected in the Zurich-South constituency, but did not stand for re-election three years later.
