Hans Hermann Russack

Hans Hermann Russack (born December 18, 1887 in Weißenborn , † after 1942) was a German art historian .

Russack attended high school in Zeitz and studied art history, German studies, history and philosophy at the University of Leipzig since 1906 and was here in 1910 with August Schmarsow with a work The concept of rhythm among the German art historians of the XIX. PhD in the 19th century . From October 1, 1912 to April 1, 1913 he was a volunteer assistant at the Basel Public Art Collection .

After spending several years in Greece, he published the book Germans in Athens in 1942 , the first monograph on the history of urban construction and the architecture of classical Athens in the 19th century.
