Hans Horsters

Hans Horsters (born March 22, 1887 in Krefeld , † March 18, 1957 in Berlin ) was a German doctor.

Career

From 1924 to 1927 Horsters was an assistant at the 2nd Clinic of the Charité in Berlin . After his habilitation he was from 1928 private lecturer for internal medicine at the University of Halle . In 1932 he was appointed senior physician at the Medical University Clinic and in July 1934 he was made an associate professor. On May 1, 1933, he had previously been accepted into the NSDAP .

At the beginning of 1935 he moved to Berlin as an adjunct professor. At the same time he became the medical director of the internal department of the Weißensee municipal hospital . From 1937 he was the medical director of the Rudolf Virchow Municipal Hospital .

The main focus of his scientific work was the metabolism as well as diseases of the liver and biliary tract . His book Outline of Clinical Diagnostics (1936) has been translated into several languages.
